Bengaluru, India
We have released update 20.17 of GeoTools & CADPower couple of days back. This blog post got delayed because we kept tweaking the install-sets and made four minor updates in as many days (keeping the version number still 20.17).
Important German language update
One of the major (and ongoing) development in this version is that we have now completely translated ALL the German language DCL strings and also completed more than 70% of the remaining (unfinished) German strings at other user-interface locations. This is an ongoing work for us now and we expect to fully complete the remaining before the launch of V 21 next month. Thank you Werner Macho from Austria who has been on this job relentlessly since the last 15 days.
And for the Portuguese Brazilian version also....
In parallel, we are also completing the translations for the Portuguese Brazilian versions of GeoTools & CADPower and are racing against time and optimistic that it will be ready and in place before the V21 release.
GeoTools V 20.17
An insertion point bug in the supplied GPS point drawing GT_SURVEY_POINT has been fixed. The insertion point was not at the location of the POINT object but was snapped to the insertion point of the attribute under it. This has been fixed now and it is at the POINT location.
CADPower V 20.17
Professional Looking Ribbons: Completely re-designed from scratch
CADPower V 20.17 for AutoCAD now has a completely new and professional looking ribbon interface.
We introduced the ribbons in CADPower and GeoTools for BricsCAD in V 20.11. Now we have re-designed the CADPower ribbons for AutoCAD completely.
In the next update, we will be releasing the new ribbons for GeoTools also - for AutoCAD.
A Small but important bug fixed
An insertion point bug in the supplied GPS point drawing GT_SURVEY_POINT has been fixed. The insertion point was not at the location of the POINT object but was snapped to the insertion point of the attribute under it. This has been fixed now and it is at the POINT location.
Improved: CP_DWGSET (BricsCAD+ -> Support -> Drawing Settings):
The Toolbar Control under CP_DWGSET command
There was a bug in the toolbar settings under CADPower drawing settings. Upon setting the toolbar visibility status, it was not correctly saved and restored. This has been fixed.
Additionally, a new option has been added called 'Allow CADPower to manage your toolbars'. Checking this option allows CADPower to take control of the visibility state of the five frequently used toolbars that 2d drafters most often like, viz:
- Standard toolbar
- Entity toolbar
- Access toolbar
- View Toolbar
- Workspaces toolbar
- Selection Modes
As per your selections in this menu, CADPower will set the toolbar visibility each time CADPower starts. If this option is not checked, CADPower will not manage these toolbars upon each re-start, instead their visibility will be as per what the user sets it manually. This option is provided here for the benefit of many first-time users who find it hard to find and manage toolbars.
Improved: ddPstyle (BricsCAD+ -> Point Style Dialog):
There was a bug in the ddPstyle command which has not been fixed.
