Starting May 1 2019, the list price of new licenses of GeoTools and CADPower software will be revised about 6% higher.
For upgrades, the price increase is set at around 3.5%. The increase in prices is modest and in line with the number of features and fixes we have provided over the years.
This increase will apply from the release of V20 of GeoTools-CADPower, our yearly numbered annual update, that is timed to release with the numbered version change of AutoCAD.
We released about 18 minor updates of GeoTools & CADPower from April 2018 till date, during the V19 life-cycle. No more updates are planned for V19 and the release of V20 is expected to happen by May 1 or earlier. This year witnessed hectic activity in terms of new features added and existing ones improved. We also fixed a number of defects and performance issues which led to the product reaching a high level of usability and productivity boost. V19 of GeoTools-CADPower also saw the introduction of the Railway Design and Transmission Design tools that promises to extend the usability of GeoTools into newer domains of infrastructure design.
Growing stronger, year on year
This year also saw the highest number of BricsCAD users adopting GeoTools & CADPower, both new as well as existing ones adding new seats.
Asked by public demand, we offered the choice to users!
Soon to be released for the ZWCAD platform also
Starting late 2018, ZWCAD user interest in our products started to grow. We sat up and took notice when the push came from the users, and not the vendors. There were requests to make our products available for ZWCAD, as many of our existing clients were indeed ZWCAD users.
Earlier this year, in January 2019, we ported our applications to the ZWCAD platform and the product is available in beta to select users. We plan to announce a public ZWCAD platform release along with V20.
As far as GeoTools and CADPower are concerned, we are a platform-neutral company. We have two more suitors waiting on the wings to make our software run on their platforms too - one from Germany and the other from Russia.
However, let me be clear on this - we still support BricsCAD as a #1, 100% compatible alternative-to-AutoCAD platform to run our add-on products, with ZWCAD coming close and offering a nearly identical experience as far as running GeoTools-CADPower is concerned.
I call upon existing ZWCAD users to try our products on your chosen CAD platform. If you want to test it out on ZWCAD, ask me for a beta download link.
