April 3, 2018 has been a red-letter day for Bricsys and all of us in the partner ecosystem.
Bricsys announced today that Heidi Hewett, a long term veteran at Autodesk and one of its well-known faces has joined Bricsys as User Success Manager. This move is yet another strong endorsement of the Bricsys brand and the trust industry leaders have in the company, the .dwg format and the new BIM platform that BricsCAD supports.
Most of us in the Bricsys ecosystem have grown up in our careers with a formal association with Autodesk in some form or the other, either as customer, developer partner, reseller or similar. I have been a regular reader of Heidi's AutoCAD posts on her blog and it is now a pleasure to see her drawn to Bricsys.
Compatible, not copied! Bricsys never designed BricsCAD to be a copied AutoCAD clone. Instead, they started with compatibility as the first plank on which to build their platform. The compatibility did not just limit to user experience but at the API level as well. BricsCAD boasts of the best API compatibility among all .dwg software out there and this extends in a secular way to all platforms: Lisp, .NET and BRX. We look forward to reading Heidi's insights on BricsCAD as she applies her vast experience of CAD user psychology and aspirations to motivate a new generation of CAD users to embrace BricsCAD.
Heidi will write most of her technical blogging in the Bricsys blog, and you can already read her first post here.
