DesignSense Software, Bengaluru, in collaboration with Penta Designers, Pune have launched a new productivity solution today for the .dwg CAD market.
MfgPower (Manufacturing Power) is a utility add-on for BricsCAD & AutoCAD that significantly shortens the lead time for creating shop floor drawings.
You may have the best designs in your mind but if the final shop floor drawings are not dimensioned and documented adequately and in a standardized, complete manner, the whole exercise of bringing a product to manufacturing can be a disaster.
Having seen first-hand several such last-mile glitches resulting in botched manufacturing & wastage, DesignSense & Penta joined hands to bring productivity solutions at the shop floor drawings level, a segment which has often been neglected by vendors and users alike.
It is time we emphasize on some cool tools for shop-floor drawing detailing and annotations. MfgPower is the way to go!
MfgPower today provides a complete set of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing tools that help users finish the drawing that is fully ready for shop floor personnel to understand. Being program driven (and not manual drafting), MfgPower ensures that the drawing annotations are standardized, consistent and uniform.
With a simple user-interface that allows commands to be entered on the command-line, pull-down menus or toolbars, MfgPower is easily customizable for every user.
MfgPower is used in-house by Penta Designers, Pune to automate their entire shop-floor drawing annotations. The above three images are actual output from MfgPower that are used in production by Penta Designers.
During the life-cycle of MfgPower V1, we will be adding a whole lot of new features into this product, the roadmap of which has been laid out and is work in progress.
DesignSense welcomes users and companies who would be willing to try this new software and be part of the development and product definition.
