Bricsys announces another good news for BricsCAD users!
One License Key, Any Operating system!!
Starting today, September 15, we will no longer make the distinction between Windows or Linux (or Mac) License Keys for BricsCAD. So users do not need to decide upfront what platform they want to use to run BricsCAD. They can simply order BricsCAD and the License Key will will work to activate BricsCAD for Windows, BricsCAD for Linux or (soon) BricsCAD for Mac.
Moreover, a client could now easily start running BricsCAD on Windows, but at a certain moment decide to switch for instance to the Linux platform. In such case, the client simply needs to deactivate on Windows (be sure to follow the correct procedure, read here) and use the same key to activate BricsCAD on Linux. Having platform independent keys will again offer more flexibility to clients. And it nicely supports the Bricsys tagline REAL choice!
I really appreciate this move from Bricsys to open up choices of operating systems to users. This is what users have been asking and happy to see this implemented.
I call upon BricsCAD Windows users to take this opportunity to try BricsCAD on Linux. The Linux version is complete, including full support for all Direct Modeling, BRX, Lisp and more. The Linux Mint operating system offers modern UI and experience, and Communicator Support is in development.
Due to technical reasons, this portability of licenses will only apply to license keys that have been issued from September 15, 2014 onwards. If you are on subscription, wait for your V15 keys that you will receive next month, they will be platform-independent and portable across operating systems.
