Bangalore, India
CADVision Engineers, a Hyderabad, India based provider of engineering software products and services, announced today the completion of phase one of beta testing on a software product that uses Bricsys’ LGS (Ledas Geometric Solvers) 2D component technology for parametric constraint solving.
Some background: Bricsys acquired the complete intellectual property rights of Russian CAD company LEDAS in 2011. The acquired IP consisted of the source code to LGS 2D, LGS 3D, Driving Dimensions, RhinoWorks, and other programs used by the CAD industry. These can be used as embedded technologies in CAD software developed by third-parties.
CADVision did exactly that, and has announced in a joint press release with Bricsys their on-going development work of a Mechanical Engineering Software Product for creating sketches of concepts, progressing to synthesizing geometry and concluding with analyzing the integrity of design. The aim - to quickly assess practicality of a design concept.

This is a very exciting news for the CAD community, and reinforces the strength, reliability and quality engineering of Bricsys technologies. The Variational Direct Modeling (VDM) in BricsCAD software itself is based on the LGS 2D and 3D solvers. These are components that can licensed independently from Bricsys.
