Did you know that, as an end-user, you can view and verify your BricsCAD licenses on the Bricsys web-site?
A random check I did with BricsCAD customers in India revealed that over 90% of our users did not know that such an option even existed.
This post explains it all. There is also an end-note on how you can manually activate your V14 license.
Here is how you do it:
GoTo Support on the top tab, pull it down and select 'My Account' which is the last item on the
You get a screen which will look like this:
Enter your Bricsys-registered email address as the login name and the password which was assigned to you. If you do not remember either or both, you can use the Forgot username/password option, check your email InBox for the Bricsys email you got when you first downloaded it, or contact your local reseller.
I logged in (with permission) using the credentials of one of our clients here and this is what I get to see in the next screen.
Click on the Licenses and Support Contracts option in the list and you will see a screen showing all the license keys that have been assigned to you. You can use this as a check to ensure that the keys delivered to you by your reseller match with and are the same as those you see here.
At the bottom of this page, you will see more options (see the second pat of the screen grab):
If you notice, each license key is accompanied by a product description. If you click on it, you get more information about the license, like the Start Date of subscription, End Date of subscription, whether the license has been activated or not, and so on. This is where you can check the status of licenses, and you can also manually activate your licenses, if the computer where BricsCAD is installed does not have an internet connection.
Activating BricsCAD V14 licenses manually
GoTo the Help menu in BricsCAD and click on BricsCAD license... Click on the Activate BricsCAD option.
You will notice that there is an option called Activate license manually.
You need to activate your license manually if you do not have an internet connection on the computer where you wish to use BricsCAD.
You will see the option called Activate Manually... Click on it to reveal the HostId of your computer.
Copy this HostId (your computer identification), take it to another computer which is connected to the internet and paste this in the Bricsys site customer login page shown earlier.
You should see the two screens as shown below:
Upon doing this, you license file is automatically generated which you can download, copy on a pen drive, bring back to the computer to be licensed and read it in and have your computer licensed.
Now, you can manage all your BricsCAD licenses yourself. The username and password to enter the customer account is sent to you the very first time you download BricsCAD and an account gets created in BOA (Bricsys Online Administration). Please note this down and remember the credentials of your customer account. There is a wealth of information and a lot of self-help you can get from this account.
