Darmstadt, Germany
I am in Darmstadt, Germany today and the Bricsys International 2013 conference starts tomorrow. Taking a quick walk around the town center, I passed by the venue, Darmstadtium and discovered an interesting fact. Though it is built as a modern science, exhibition and meeting center, a small section of the erstwhile wall of the old city of Darmstadt is still preserved and can be seen striking into the glass and metal panelled building. An interesting story about the town's past is revealed as more remnants discovered during the excavation can still be seen inside the building, and has been blended with the modern architecture of the business center.
Social media channels have been buzzing with activity and Bricsys partners and stake-holders are already in town, the count-down has begun. Here is the agenda for the two days:
The Day 1 Evening event (a walking dinner as usual) is at the Instituut Mathildenhöhe (see page here), and the legendary Bricsys party happens on Day 2 happens at the Weststadt Bar this time.
Following the conference, I will be travelling to Pazin, Croatia for 2 more days of business and leisure with an old GeoTools client of ours, Kamen.
