Day 3 of the conference is a reseller partners only event. A close-knit gathering of about 30+ resellers and Bricsys employees was at the O-Seven in the Passenger Terminal Building overlooking the bay.
In this presentation, Alfatech from Japan is telling us their success story - how they sold 2000+ licenses of BricsCAD in Japan this year so far. Takayuki Kaji told us how they kept the customers & prospects happy by delivering custom built tools free of cost to bridge the gaps that were missing from BricsCAD. In other words, they did not wait for Bricsys to deliver the missing commands. This is what we have been doing in India as well, providing many free routines and software along with BricsCAD in India. As an example, he showed how they created the Array Dialog for Bricscad V12. This is a native Bricscad command in Bricscad V13.
Last year, it was Uwe Redmer from Mervisoft, Germany telling us his success story built on a model that involved working with a multiple sub-reseller network and a super-efficient CRM system that worked for them to manage the internal network of partners. The German market continues to be succcesful for Bricsys.
Uwe Redmer had an interesting meeting handout to give us - sparkling white wine in BricsCAD Deutschland branded cans, with the old Bricsys logo. Uwe said he has 200 more to dispose off.
Germany and Japan still continue to lead the pack in terms of market-share but many other countries are inching up significantly. Although India does not appear in the top 10 markets for BricsCAD, statistics revealed phenomal three-digit YoY growth last year and expecting to do better. As if on cue, we received a multi-user license order confirmation from India when this presentation was shown.Sticking to its usual Day 3 format, Mark van den Bergh & Sander Scheiris showed some great slides with internal statistics about country-wise market share, growth numbers of Classic, Pro and Platinum licenses, web & social media statistics, revenue/EBITDA financials, headcount with geographic distribution and so on. Impressive positive growth in all areas. Linux downloads could do better though! It shoeed a down-trend which was also evident by the fact that Bricsys talked very little about it this time.
Hans de Backer showed us the new Bricsys web-site and V13 features in larger detail, and the presentation was largely interactive, unlike the Day 2 version of the same.
Bricsys introduced two new staff - Guy Vancoolie, the new Chief Marketing Office and Carlos Brandao, the new Sales manager who have driven home the message that they would want to engage with resellers more pro-actively than before.
It was also a great opportunity for several one-on-one meetings with Bricsys programmers and marketing staff.
We ended the day (or night) with a closing sit-down dinner at the Nevy Restauarnt by the bay. Informal dinner conversations revolved around guessing where the next conference would be - with names like Barcelona, Berlin, Moscow, Siberia and Thailand doing the rounds.
