Continuing last year's pitch, Ralph Grabowski today talks about Running CAD on Tiny Devices. Ralph is a great proponent of CAD running on tiny and portable devices and says the upcoming Mali GPU processors promises a lot of raw graphics power for 3D CAD to run on portable devices.
Ralph talked about the prevailing platforms and OSes on which the new generation CAD software is vying to run - iOS, Android and Windows RT.
He said there are still inconsistencies and weird, unexpected behaviour in touch technology resulting in a not-so-nice experience at all times.
Two ways by which CAD software export data to portable devices - either via cloud (Autodesk etc) or directly (as is done by GStarCAD).
A number of smaller companies are already having 3d capable viewing software but it is too early to say how far they could go.
Ralph provided a lot more insights and comparison about the various devices, technologies and trends in the mobile & tablet computing industry.

A recent conversion, then. I distinctly remember him loudly claiming otherwise on his blog (this was before his beloved Android iOS-clone came out, though).

Hmmm... I cannot remember what his earlier views were, as on 2011, he was still positive about CAD on the mobile platform.
