Brcisys has strengthened its footprints in the mechanical industry with huge emphasis in V13. It was an expected development, given the significant acquisition that Bricsys made last year when they acquired the direct modeling / VDM technologies from LEDAS.
In this presentation of mechanical engineering-related tools in BricsCAD, Dimitry Ushakov, the CEO of Bricsys Russia, explained more about it.
Dr. Ushakov started off by explaining some basic stuff about MCAD software. Who needs it? Why it is useful? and stuff like that.
Some justification about how big the market size is, how much of it uses MCAD, how much does not.
Therefore, there is a need to address the market at this price point with Bricscad .dwg technology.
Bricscad is being positioned as a unified .dwg platform that is applicable for 2d as well as 3d design, all under one roof - Bricscad.
Key technologies like parametric drawing in 2D, Variational Direct Modeling in 3D and the new Assembly Modeling is now part of the Bricscad environment.
Live demo of the new assembly modeling capabilities in Bricscad Platinum. Here, we see a 8 valve engine assembly DWG being rotated in 3d and analyzed/viewed/edited from all angles.
Live demo of the 3d kinematics capabilities in BricsCAD. We are shown a model of robot exported from Solidworks as SAT files. Each part of the assembly is linked using constraints, and an assembled model of the robot is shown in motion using kinematic linkages.
And, finally, the teaser slide, which promises much more to come, delivers some of them, and makes you look forward to more!
