ODA - Open Design Alliance creates the Teigha libraries which are used in Bricscad and many other .dwg CAD software to read and write drawing files. In this presentation by Arnold Van der Weide, President of ODA, he explained the organization's activities, work in progress and plans for the future.
Arnold explained about the ODA membership guidelines. Over 1300+ members now worldwide.
ODA Teigha libraries are available for .dgn files also.
Teigha 3.8 is the next release of the ODA library which will have 2013 .dwg support as well as support for multi-threading. Expected by end of 2012.
ODA and its member organizations work closely to help build the Teigha libraries. Bricsys has been working closely with ODA to help build and shape up the library.
In conclusion, Arnold talked about the road ahead for ODA, highlighted new measures and processes that need to be put in place to make ODA more effective, provide greater value to its members, improve internal documentation to enable new team members to understand better and faster, improve its website and more.
