Luc de Batselier, CTO of Bricsys and Torsten Moses start off with the first presentation explaining the new API changes in the BricsCAD environment. Visual Studio 2010 is now supported for developing .NET and BRX applications. Luc also gave a brief roundup of the new features of BRX functions.
An OpenDWG interface has been added which will allow BricsCAD Lisp to read, open and manage .dwg files without the need for a drawing editor. This is really great for Lisp programmers like me!!
Other goodies and enhancements - Lisp optimizer helps you optimize and run your code better.
Lisp Profiler helps you troubleshoot problems and do performance analysis.
Certainly, Bricsys appears to be dead serious about giving Lisp as much importance as the other APIs. The set of API enhancement tools in Lisp make this a very attractive and active delevopment environment for Lisp. This is in contrast to the big boy of CAD, who seems to be keen on killing Lisp, although quite unsuccessfully.
In conclusion, Luc disclosed some new APIs for the new technologies that have been added into BricsCAD since V12, like Quad, Direct and Constraint Modeling, the new Vondle etc.
