Bangalore, India
It has been over 3 months since we released the V13 versions of GeoTools and CADPower. And a number of new features, fixes and improvements have been added since then.
Here is a list of them:
CADPower:
V 13.01:
New command(s) added:
CP_VISIBLE : (CADPower -> Miscellaneous -> CAD Procedures -> Change object visibility):
The CP_VISIBLE command converts CAD graphical objects from a visible state to invisible state and back. The visibility state is set on the command line by means of the (V)isible or (I)nvisible keyword.
CP_FINDENCLOSED : (CADPower -> Selection -> Find points enclosed within 3dface space):
The CP_FINDENCLOSED command is a means to select point objects which lie within the space bounded by selected 3dface objects.
This command was created in response to the requirements of the mining industry where the mining shafts and cut-outs are often modeled using 3dface objects, with a lot of neighborhood points representing data captured from various sources. This tool helps to select all such point features which lie inside or outside the space bounded by the 3dface objects.
V 13.02:
CP_EASYEED : (CADPower -> Extended Entity Data Tools -> Edit XDATA in a dialog box):
The CP_EASYEED provides a dialog box interface to edit xdata. This is a quick tool to view and edit XDATA.
CP_EASYATT : (CADPower -> Block Tools -> Attribute-related -> Multiple-choice attribute editor): The CP_EASYATT_SETUP command has been improved. When you now restore an INI file containing the multiple-attribute choices, the system checks to see if the current definition of the block in the drawing has new attribute definitions. If yes, the new attribute values are added and updated.
A new command CP_EASYATT_RESTORE has been added which will allow an INI file to be specified directly and its parameters retrieved without having to go through the CP_EASYATT_SETUP dialog box. This ensures that different INI files can be setup and used as required by making a command line call.
V 13.04:
CP_CALCAREA : (CADPower -> Polyline Tools -> Inquiry & Statistics -> Compute summed areas of closed polylines): The 'mm' [millimeters] unit has been added to the list of supported units for annotation. A request from Australia honoured.
Enhancement:
CP_EASYATT: (CADPower -> Blocks -> Attribute-related -> Multiple-Choice Attribute Editor): A new sub-command has been added. It is called CP_EASYATT_RESTORE. This command will enable the EASYATT INI file to be specified directly on the command line, read it and update the current settings in memory. You can do all this without having to go through the GT_EASYATT_SETUP dialog box. This makes it suitable for unattended or menu macro based use. This command has also been enhanced. The order of attributes in the block is not important any more for the INI file. If you change the definition order of attributes, the command will still work.
GeoTools:
V 13.01:
GT_BRGROUND : (GeoTools -> Civil Tools -> Round off bearings): The GT_BRGROUND command is used to round off bearings to a specified precision. Usually the bearings are represented in typical styles like : 50-23-24, 149d49'32", 38° 55' 46", N 149° 41' 27" E, S 85d27' E and so on. The GT_BRGROUND command works on the seconds part of the bearing and rounds it off to the nearest number of specified seconds.
GeoTools and CADPower user manuals updated and now show exactly the same commands and screenshots as you see in CAD.
V 13.02:
GT_EASYOD : (GeoTools -> AutoCAD Map Tools -> Object Data -> Multiple-choice object data editor): The GT_EASYOD_SETUP command has been improved. If the structure of the object table has changed, the command now updates the setup command automatically so that the new fields and their defaults are correctly mapped.
A new command GT_EASYOD_RESTORE has been added which will allow an INI file to be specified directly and its parameters retrieved without having to go through the GT_EASYOD_SETUP dialog box. This ensures that different INI files can be setup and used as required by making a command line call.
V 13.03:
Bug fix:
GT_BRGROUND : (GeoTools -> Civil Tools -> Round off bearings): There were some flaws in the rounding off seconds in situations where the rounding resulted in 60 as the answer. This has been fixed.
GT_PROFILE : (GeoTools -> Civil Tools -> Draw cross-sectional profile from 3D Polyline): Some of the program parameters were not getting retained and was defaulting or initial values during the next run. This was a regression introduced during an update. This has now been fixed.
General improvements in German version: All pending translations have been completed, user-interface, menus etc.
V 13.04:
GT_SPL2PL : (GeoTools -> Conversion Tools -> Convert splines to polylines):
CP_SPL2PL: (CADPower -> Conversion -> Line/Polyline/Arc/Spline -> Convert splines to polylines):
The GT_SPL2PL/CP_SPL2PL command now allows splines and ellipses to be converted to polylines by specifying the number of equal segments into which the spline/ellipse is to be divided. This new method is called 'Divide' and complements the existing 'Interpolate' method which generates sampling points at regular intervals along the spline/ellipse.
Bug Fix: In the same command, a bug has been fixed which caused the spline ends to be incorrectly swapped when connecting the polyline.
Bug Fix: Some more bugs in handling of special case annotations have been fixed in the GT_BRGROUND command (GeoTools->Civil Tools-> Round off bearings):
Enhancement:
GT_EASYOD: (GeoTools -> AutoCAD Map Tools -> Object Data -> Multiple-Choice Object Data Editor):
A new sub-command has been added. It is called GT_EASYOD_RESTORE. This command will enable the EASYOD INI file to be specified directly on the command line, read it and update the current settings in memory. You can do all this without having to go through the GT_EASYOD_SETUP dialog box. This makes it suitable for unattended or menu macro based use. This command has also been enhanced. The order of object fields in the block is not important any more for the INI file. If you change the definition order of object fields, the command will still work.
General Improvements:
Changes to popup dialog under floating licenses:
When you use GeoTools/CADPower under a network floating license, the license status messages keep popping up upon startup. This was causing interference for some users who were using AutoCAD for script processing, automated processing etc. Nevertheless, the status messages are important and therefore, it was designed as a popup so that the user can see and read it. Now, we have an option to convert the popup status messages to command line messages through a setting in the license file.
If you are using floating licenses and find the popups irritating, just let me know. I can help you fix them.
