GeoTools V 12.06 update:
Finally, the tabbed ribbon interface is now available in GeoTools. With AutoCAD 2012, GeoTools is available with a complete ribbon interface that was introduced in AutoCAD 2010. Each panel in the GeoTools tab is now a tool category like Polyline, Conversion, Text etc. The old interface - the pull-dowm menus and the toolbars are still available.
The tabbed ribbon interface, which was first introduced by Microsoft as the new UI standard in their 2007 Office suites application has slowly gained popularity and acceptance. To be certified as "fully Microsoft UI protocol compatible" application, software vendors started adding the tabbed ribbon into their apps.
With GeoTools UI now occupying its place in the ribbon and available in all the workspaces, GeoTools does not recommend that you use the AutoCAD Classic workspace anymore for ease of command access. Any workspace is now as good, with all commands easily visible and available. The GeoTools V12 start-up dialog box recommending workspace configuration does not appear in AutoCAD 2012.
