My name is Rakesh Rao and I am the owner of Four Dimension Technologies and co-owner of Coordinate Systems, two CAD related businesses operating in Bangalore, India since 1999.
Four Dimension Technologies is an Autodesk authorized development business. We created the GeoTools add-on product for AutoCAD and have completed numerous customization jobs across various industry domains.
Coordinate Systems is a reseller of Bricscad software in India for the GIS-Civil-Survey and related verticals. We have ported our GeoTools application to run on the Bricscad platform also.
GeoTools is a productivity add-on for the two main CAD platforms, AutoCAD - the market leader, and Bricscad - the only real, credible, stable DWG-compatible alternative to the former.
For us, both are very good and stable platforms. Nevertheless, each has its own strengths and weaknesses, merits and demerits, markets and niches and justifications for usefulness etc.
And that is why we are being secular and offer GeoTools as well as our programming services on both these platforms. And Coordinate Systems markets the Bricscad platform as an DWG-compatible alternative CAD to those of you who would like to experience a new and upcoming platform at value-for-money prices.
Through this blog, I hope to examine the two platforms in some detail and how they compare with each other and probably with some others that may merit a discussion. Much of this discussion will also revolve around how GeoTools operates and functions within the realms of AutoCAD and Bricscad.
And our goal is to tell the user how they can work smarter, not harder in their chosen CAD environment, show them tips and tricks that would differentiate themselves from other users using plain vanilla CAD systems.
