After more than 6 years running on BricsCAD for Windows, CADPower & GeoTools are now available on BricsCAD running on the Apple Mac OS X operating system also.
For those of you who are now aware, GeoTools and CADPower are productivity-boosting applications that run on .dwg platforms like AutoCAD and BricsCAD. Each software provides over 300+ tools for the CAD user and has been on the market since 1999 with a user-base in 40+ countries.
CADPower and GeoTools are 100% Lisp applications and run natively on the Mac version of BricsCAD V16 without any problems.
There may be a few commands that *may* generate some errors in the Mac version and this is due to the non-availability of equivalent Fast-COM functions.
This is a known issue and being addressed, and will be fixed and improved in coming updates. As of now, more than 80% of the functions work without any problems.
If you encounter errors, do let me know and I will take it on priority to get it fixed or suggest workarounds.
The Mac version is available as a ZIP download and not as DMG files. Simply unzip the contents of this file in any folder which has both read and write access and you are ready to start using the software. In BricsCAD, you need to set the support search path to this folder.
By the way, the ZIP download of the Mac version is identical (in internal contents) to the Windows version. It has only been zipped because an EXE download would not install in a Mac computer.
We are happy to announce that GeoTools and CADPower are the first full-blown Lisp application products to be available on the Apple Mac platform for BricsCAD.
